Classification of Big Bag (FIBCs)

BIG BAG TYPE A -  Made from fabrics that do not provide any protection against electrostatic charges.
Use: Suitable for environments where electrostatic discharge is not a concern.

BIG BAG TYPE B  - Constructed from antistatic fabric with a breakdown voltage below 6 kV.
Use: Appropriate for dust zones with a Minimum Ignition Energy (MIE) greater than 3 mJ. Offers some protection against static buildup.

BIG BAG TYPE C-  Made from fabric woven with conductive threads.
Use: Designed for gas and dust zones with MIE below 3 mJ. Requires grounding during filling and emptying to effectively dissipate electrostatic charges and prevent ESD incidents.

Considerations
Ensure the appropriate type of BIG BAG is selected based on the specific environmental risks and the materials being handled.
Proper grounding and handling practices are essential, especially for Type C bags, to minimize the risk of ignition in hazardous atmospheres.
